I took the True Colors test and my results were gold. The career choices that I saw, one of the stood out the most to me because I am interested in the criminal justice field. As I was scrolling through the list I saw the career Parole and Probation Officers. I've known or the longest time that I wanted to be in the criminal justice field. A lot of professions in the Criminal Justice field encompass a lot of the same material that you need to learn. Parole and Probation Officers help legal offenders readjust to the way that society works. They also try and help them not to commit any more crimes by trying to standardize the way people are supposed to act in society. They try to help out criminals as much as they can providing them with job training opportunities. They also keep track of the progress that the criminal may or may not be making.
To become a Parole or a Probation Officer you need to have a bachelors degree in social work, criminal justice or behavioral science. You have to get a lot of training as well as an education. They require you to take and pass a training program. After they pass the training program they then must take and pass a certification test. If they pass both of these requirements then they may face a challenge of becoming a trainee for a year at least before they are able to get there permanent job as a Parole or a Probation Officer. You need to be an adept person in this profession in order to make your life easier. . They skills you would want are communication, critical thinking, decision making, emotionally stable, and to be very organized.
They pay for this type of work is pretty good considering the type of economy we have. As of May of 2012 the starting income you make is approximately forty eight thousand dollars a year. As you work more years you can make an upwards of eighty to ninety thousand dollars a year. Although the pay seems like it is great they work many, many hours. They are often on call so that means that they have to be ready to go at any time of the day or night.

You can do whatever you put your mind to, Good Luck !
