True Colors Blog 2

For my true colors test my results were gold and blue. I felt I was more of a gold result because it had many criminal justice careers in it. Possible careers I liked were patrol and traffic officer or highway patrol. I've always wanted to have my career have something to do with criminal justice. I want to be a police officer. Police officers are typically bureaucratic. They are in charge of apprehending people who commit crimes, respond to emergencies etc. Police officers are here to protect, not every city or place is a utopia. There are many criminals in the world. Police officers jobs can be very dangerous. They witness people shooting or hurting other people or even death. Suspects may be raucous. Police officers have to write reports about what happens when they arrest someone. Suspects tend to get angry when they are getting in trouble. To become a police officer you have to be at least 21 years old, you must be in good shape, and be fit and fast. Your education can range from a high school diploma to a college degree. The minimum requirement is to have a high school diploma, but it is better to have at least an AA degree. "The employment of police is expected to raise 7% from 2010 to 2020." Average salary of a regular police officer is approximately 25,000. If you have a higher degree you have a more likely chance of being promoted and getting a raise in their salary. Being a police officer is fast paced and may be difficult in a lot of cases, but I feel that it is a great job to be able to protect the community and make people feel safe. A lot of people do not like the police but what they have to realize is that the police protect them and without the police being there the world would be a crazy, dangerous place. People have too much of an egocentric outlook about it. They think about themselves, and they do not like the police because they are afraid of getting in trouble. Police are there to protect. Police officers have to go through an academy and interview process before they are hired. They have to go through rigorous physical training and they must be robust. The interview process is a panel of people asking interview questions to the person. All in all I know that becoming a police officer is hard work, but I am dedicated to what I want to do in life, and my true colors test confirmed criminal justice is the field I want to be in as my career.
