Hi, my name is Brandon Martinez. Personally I never thought of myself as a hero. After reading these stories it makes me realize a lot. In retrospect I noticed a lot of things that I did not notice until after reading the stories. Throughout my life I noticed a lot of things that I did not before. Growing up it was rough for me. I grew up playing basketball for two different teams and my dad would berate me because I had messed up and he wanted me to be perfect. As a young child I did not know the reason for scolding. When I think about it now I noticed that it helped me a lot. It taught me how to listen, stay disciplined and to be able to resist temptation. As time went along my parents had split up and my brother was six years old. Although my dad wasn't able to be around us all the time because of the split up. I was the only man figure in the house for my little brother. I was only fifteen years old and I did not know how to teach my brother the way to grow up. Having all of these things to think about at fifteen years old made me despondent at times. Now that I am older and I understand how to become a man I can teach my brother about how to be a scrupulous man. Who would have thought that I was an everyday hero? I guess it was meant to be that I learn to become a man so I can pass the things I learned onto my brother.

  1. the most important thing is that you realized that you are a hero to somebody and that somebody depends on you. Take care of you little brother and be a good influence on him. : )

  2. Being his brother can be easier than a father figure. But begin both to your little brother is a sign of being his hero. when he grows up to be a man, he'll thank you for that! GOOD JOB BIG BRO!
